H & M Philippines Home

11:40 AM Unknown 0 Comments

H & M which stands for Hennes and Mauritz is a swedish clothing company that sells quality, inexpensive and fashionable clothing for men, women and children. H & M was established in 1947 by Erling Persson. It only sold women's clothing that time and was called Hennes which means "for her" in Swedish. Persson acquired the Mauritz Widforss apparel retailer in 1968 which led to the inclusion of men's apparel in the product range and the name became H & M.

H & M has branches worldwide and I was over the moon when the company has finally opened its flagship store here in the Philippines. The one in Makati is the first branch that I went to for a quick shopping spree. When I got there, I was surprised to see real fancy items for the home too. I bought a small-sized pillow for the love of my life which I got for a reasonable price. I got too carried away with the interior design items and decorations (nakalimutan ko na magtingin ng top or pants for myself). But it was all worth it!

I'd love to get all the items that I saw (especially the cushion covers) for our humble abode. They were really nice to look at and they seemed to be of top quality.

H & M branches in the Philippines:

SM Megamall
SM North Edsa
SM Makati

Stylized by Liz Uy

6:33 AM Unknown 0 Comments

Who already owns a copy of Stylized? I got mine a few weeks ago at a flower shop slash mini bookstore at Alabang Town Center. I've scanned through pages, and it promises to be a good read.

As a person who knows nothing much about fashion, this book of the famous fashion editor and stylist, Liz Uy definitely would come in handy. What I like about this book is, it will show you how to create fashionable and highly functional wardrobe with her ten style essentials. I am a jeans-and shirt kind of girl and I got giddy when I saw chapter I (modeled by Anne Curtis) on how to create different looks using a simple white shirt.

You can definitely rock your simple white shirt by simply adding on pieces you can invest in to pair with your basics. One good example would be getting a designer bag that would increase the price of a jeans-shirt-flats uniform. If you can't afford the ante of a designer bag, then you can just wear your designer sunglasses and printed scarf to level up your humdrum white shirt. In fact, there are so many ways to spruce it up. You just need to exercise your creative minds to pull it off.

The jeans part (modeled by Julia Barreto) is I guess everyone's favorite too to those who already have read this book. I love how Liz Uy showed the right jeans for every body type and the fashion-forward variation of jeans that you can add to your closet. You can also get pointers in rocking your blazer, little black dress,  white button-down shirt, slacks, leggings, tank top, shorts and pencil skirt. Indeed, Stylized is the new fashion bible of the Philippines.

Montego Bay Club Laced Mandals

1:45 AM Unknown 0 Comments

I remember owning a few pairs of Birkenstock sandals wayback. Every person I know owns one even my dad who doesn't know anything about fashion. Haha. Honestly, it wasn't that comfortable to wear. I just bought a few pairs 'cause it was a fashion trend that time. But, it became an outdated fashion item after a year or so.

Now, I'm seeing a resurgence from the past. Mandals are SO back! I've got this pair of Montego Bay Club laced mandals at Payless for P900+. It's surprisingly comfy to wear. It doesn't give me a hard time when strolling or taking long walks. I'm just a bit concern with its color and fabric though. But the SA told me that I can clean it with a soft-bristled brush.

There were other cute designs when I purchased this pair but this one just stood out from the rest. It's unique and it goes well with my everyday getup. How I wish they'd have this in black or grey. It would be perfect for people like me who is always on the go.

Holy Grail Make Up Items

7:34 AM Unknown 0 Comments

Raiding someone's make up pouch would be an awesome idea, don't you think? I'm pretty sure some of you are greatly interested in raiding mine so I'm revealing some of my holygrail make up items today.

My favorite make up item would ALWAYS be the eyebrow liner. My eyebrows are sparse and uneven. The left side is shorter than the right one and it's been my problem eversince. Thank heavens I discovered K-Palette's 1Day Tattoo Real Lasting Eyebrow Liner. (P795)

It literally stays put all day, it's water-resistant and its translucent ink helps you shun the common dilemma of 'super dark' eyebrows. Defining eyebrows has never been this easy!

K-Palette's 1Day Tattoo Real Lasting Eyeliner (P795) is another must have in my holy grail make up list. I came across a beauty blog online that listed all the best liquid eyeliners, and there I read about it.

I got the K-Palette's Real Lasting Eyeliner Micro in Jet Black since I was attracted to its slim and tiny applicator, which gave me an impression that it's a lot easier to use. (Hindi nga ako nagkamali) It's perfect for begginers like me who wanted to create precise eye lines and for those who don't like having obvious eye make up.

Zero Kuma Concealer is from K-Palette too. (P795) Yes, I'm highly obsessed with K-Palette products 'cause they are so damn good. It works to hide undereye dark circles and skin discolorations naturally and effortlessly. A little amount goes a long, long way!

MAC's blush on and lipstick have been my favorite since college days. It's the first make up brand that I've ever had. Their lipstick shades are to die for. I have the Candy Yumyum, Please Me and Ruby Woo which I only use on special occasions. The lasting power of these lipsticks are just average though.

K-Palette Products are available in all Beauty Bar stores nationwide and Rustan's Shangri-La, Makati and ATC.

American Apparel Inspired Tote Bag

1:29 AM Unknown 0 Comments

I got my American Apparel inspired tote bag at a bazaar in Pasig last Christmas. I always use it when going for a quick grocery shopping. It isn't only snappy but very light to carry as well.

It goes along well with my everyday get up (jeans, tshirt and sandals). The one in black looks pretty too and I think it would be more ideal for someone who's always on the go. The price of this bag ranges from P300 to P350 but I got mine for only P250. A lot of online shops are selling this kind for a cheaper price but you just have to be wary when making transactions online.

Polyvore Application on my iPod

12:19 AM Unknown 0 Comments

Polyvore is one of the many fascinating mobile applications on my iPod that serves as my guide when it comes to fashion and home improvement ideas. I just love getting new concepts on how to improve my ho-hum skills in styling my everyday outfits. It's quite erratic for me to follow the latest fashion trends and when I do, I always see to it that it's a bang for my buck.

At the drop of a hat, I have become a real Polyvore fiend, because I can mix and match items and create a look that I'd like to achieve for a certain occasion or event without a hitch. For example, the outfit above is my idea for a beach getaway.

A white t-shirt would always be an impeccable choice when packing for an escape. Then just throw in some shorts, sandals and hat in your luggage and you're good to go. For sun protection, don't forget to bring your sunblock and favorite pair of sunnies with you.
